Domain Name Help And Suggestions Please!

Hi Everyone

I had a website a few years ago with a domain name of Keeping-It-Local.co.uk and I had logos made up too. For various reasons, I didn't stay with it, however I'm now in a position to go back to it now.

It's an advertising site with the emphasis being on very local areas, and focusing on people who work from home etc, and I wondered if anyone had some good suggestions for a new domain name in case I can't get the original one back from the person who now has it for sale.

Also, I used a Windows laptop to make the previous site but now I have a mac - does anyone know of a good web site editor for Macs?

An easy one please! lol

Thanks

Sal

Why don't you wait until after March to see if he renews it?

    localopportunities.co.uk
    localsolution.co.uk
    localshowcase.co.uk

Keeping-it-local.co.uk with its double hyphen is a terrible name IMHO.

More info please with regards to your site........is it a straight forward Classifieds Board website for the local plumber, gardener etc or something a bit more special that networks these people together? How are you helping them get business in other words?

business-local.com (£500+ to register and its all yours!!)

business-ads.co.uk (less than £5 to register)

    Hi William

It's one where you can click straight on to your local area. It's not going to have annoying stuff on it, just simple and straight forward. For instance if someone is looking for a local workman in a tiny little village that's quite unknown, then they can click straight onto that area, as opposed to just advertising under Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, it'll be broken down to areas as well, if that makes sense? It'll also have categories for each type of business, if someone prefers to click straight on that and it will have ads from individuals too and not just businesses.

As I mentioned previously, I have the website already built, but I can't use the same domain now and I can't use a Windows laptop to amend it yet, as I'm now using a mac! lol

How did you create the site on your Windows machine? If you handcoded it then any Mac text editor should do the job for you.

He's renewed it -has anyone else got any good suggestions please for a domain name? Preferably with the word local in it, as that's where the emphasis is.

    Thanks
