Hey all..
I need a bit of input quickly lol as hubby is on a train and not sure what to do.
He has found an iphone but its switched off so he cant call any numbers on it to try and locate the person ( password protected)
He is going to hand it in to the police at his train stop but would the person think to try that police station if they got off the train ages ago??! Arrgh is there anything else we can do?
The password is a hindrance right now!

Presumably they will ring it and an officer will answer. So just hand it in.
No need to panic. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

No need to panic.
Thanks! I didn't think of that!:o I was fretting that the person may have no idea of all the stops what train stop it may have been handed in at!Save 8k in 2013: Member #100

No need to panic.
Surely if it is switched off as OP stated, it will go straight to the answer machine.0 -

He has just turned it on but thats as far he can go, its the standard 4 digit password to actually open up the phone to access the phonebook.
I really hope the person does not think they have lost it for goodI would be gutted if it was me!

Kudos to him (and you) for trying to sort this one and get the phone back to its rightful owner.
In addition to handing it in to the police you could inform the relevant railway carrier that you have done so, in case the owner tries them, too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If the person is anything like me, they would of installed the 'Find my Iphone' app provided by apple, activate it from their pc and be able to see the phone at the police station on the map
(roughly)
But as others have said, leave it on, and hand it in so an officer can keep an eye on it.0 -
Panic over! The person just called it! The owner knows which police station to head to!
Apparently he was very thankful! Good deed done for the day, feels good!Save 8k in 2013: Member #100

They don't actually turn off; if the screen is passworded when you click the button then it's turned on.
Anyway - it's sorted.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

My i-phone turns off. I press a button and it says - slide to turn off.
But that doesn't matter now.0
