If you don't get any luck you basically want as short a letter as possible that covers the facts.
I purchased a used BMW REG <insert> on <insert>
After driving the car for only <weeks> and <miles> the car developed an oil leak.
I brought the car back and you attempted to fix the problem, after <days/weeks> you returned the car as repaired.
After a further <weeks> and <miles> the car developed an further oil leak, again I brought the car back and you attempted to fix the problem, after <days/weeks> you returned the car as repaired
Rince and Repeat (Document each time it was taken in, how long they had it)
You have now attempted to repair the fault 3 times yet after the last time it has recommenced.
Having allowed you to attempt to repair the car 3 times wish to assert my statutory rights to REJECT the car under Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) as the repairs have not been satisfactory.
You might or might not want to mention: OFT guidance9.20
Within the reasonable period after the sale, consumers do not lose their right to reject the vehicle and require their money back simply because they ask for or agree to let you try to repair the vehicle. Where a consumer agrees to allow you to repair the faulty vehicle (within the reasonable period after the sale) he is still entitled to a refund if the repair turns out to be unsatisfactory or was not done promptly enough.0
