ref the interest rate thing, no it shouldn't alert them to anything. If you have been paying regularly still ie no late payments, then you could say that you have been a good customer and good payer, and could they lower the APR in that case?! You can always say that you are thinking of moving the balance to a lower rate card, that sometimes does the trick too.

hi again,OH has £20k of savings so I am already suggesting that it would be cheaper to get out a loan for the difference over 5 years than borrow an additional £30k for 20 years. That's what being in debt has done to me - turned me into a big fat liar.
How much does your husband take home each month?
And how much does he pay out/ to who / for what?
From what i gather he pays for food/holidays/car stuff......
How much does this add up to each month?
If you don't know the answer to any/all of these questions, then you need to ask him NOW!
