At end of Orange contract

Hello. My 2 year contract ended with Orange in December. I thought I would ring them & attempt Martins haggle method. Sadly it failed. I told the woman that I was thinking of leaving as I had seen a better deal with O2 than Orange offered online. She said they might be able to find me something better, asked me about the O2 deal (Blackberry Z10, 24 months, unlimited texts & calls & free handset for £36 month). She put me on hold then came back to say that Orange offerednthe same £36 but I would have to pay £29 for the phone. She then said as I was leaving would I also like the PAC code. No attempt to keep me & I have stayed with them for 5 years. I was a bit flustered at end of the call & agreed to PAC code (well she had called my bluff). I hadn't really wanted to leave as Orange have the best signal in my area. Does it mean after 30 days I get cut off or can I go PAYG. Sorry if this is a silly question but I have always just upgraded in past without a problem. I would be greatful for any advice. Thank you

No. If you do not use your PAC, your contact will continue as if the call hadn't taken place. The good news, is you are on a 30 day notice period and can leave them at anytime, giving 30 days notice.

You'll be flagged as a non-departing customer, so any other attempts to negotiate down the line will not be woken seriously. To get a good deal you need to be a new customer, and arrange this through a Cashback site for even greater benefits.

Thank you for that. I have not used cashback deals before, always was a bit suspicious but now I will have a look.
