The chargeback process can be tried if you paid using a Visa debit card. Not on any other.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Luckily mines a visa debit.

Do I send the letter to my local barclays (small village branch) or does it go to a head office?

Call their customer service line and explain the situation. Don't take no for an answer.

Not correct. Chargeback is part of Visa, Mastercard and Amex's internal rules.

It doesn't clarify it for me Elliott. I canceled within the 14 days and received email confirmation that my upfront fee would be refunded. Over 6 weeks later and you still have my money, don't answer my emails and don't answer the telephone in customer services. Where is my money Elliott and why haven't you refunded it?

Hi athomick, i;m in the same situation as you - signed up to primus. Cancelled the next day due to all the bad reviews.
Primus took the £111 from my account a few days after I had cancelled and have not refunded it.

Did either of you try messaging the man to see if he could help? I doubt he could get your details using your usernames.

Chargebacks can be lengthy dependant on the company, as they have a certain amount of time to respond before it is issued automatically, sometimes they will elongate the process by doing this and it's quicker to be nice and get a refund off Elliot here?

You can issue a chargeback by calling your card issuers customer services, you will have to fill out forms etc and post them off also. (from memory)
  • be nice and get a refund off Elliot here?

    Brilliant!

  • Hi everyone

If it's not too much of an inconvenience, would everyone mind sending me an email directly who is chasing a pre-pay refund (be sure to include your full personal details and MSE username) and I will put a rocket up these outstanding issues and get you all contacted.

    Thanks for your time

Amex isn't a debit card though.
You'll notice that I specified debit cards, not credit cards or charge cards.
