I'll see if I can get an amp.
It's just weird that it's only just started happening.

I doubt if an amplifier would help, as in post #3 you say that the signal is full strength. What is more important than signal strength is signal quality and this is normally displayed somewhere in the set-up menus. You may be getting interference from another transmitter also transmitting on channel 40, which you don't normally pick up i.e. due to the weather conditions etc.

I unplugged it last night for about half an hour (apparently, that's supposed to reset it to factory settings, i.e. blank) and then did a full initial installation scan.
Still no ITV3. It found the channel but no pictures/sound.

    Hi!

I have bought a freeview box last thursday, installed it but can only get 5 channels in a full coverage area, (bbc1, bbc2, bbc3, bbci, cbbc). Every now and again it will come up with no signal and then switch back on to the program. Any ideas? I am actually going mental with just these five programs! I live in a block of flats and live on the ground floor with a communal aerial. I get terrestrial tv perfectly through the aerial when it is not connected to the freeview box.
