hi, about this cea card, do the cardholder and carer get in free or it depends on the cinema? our cinema here in frome said i need to pay a discounted rate of £4.50, not free... tia

My husband had to pay full price and I get in free as the carer, we also go in the daytime on a weekday when it's cheaper
september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
    march wins - dog treats
  • There are many ways nowadays to avoid full price tickets.

Orange Wednesdays, 2 4 1 at weekends and monthly passes.

Don't think I've paid full price for 2 adult tickets in the last 2 years, and I've seen all the recent releases.

Orange Weds is a very good offer, but not if you kids, particularly younger kids. I can't take my 8yo daughter on a Weds as she would then be up really late and be terrible for school the next day. We generally only take her on kids club mornings or if we get free preview tickets. This will be handy, she might actually get to see something when its only just been released.
  • I am disappointed that we only have an Odeon cinema near us, especially when I hear of colleagues purchasing Cineworld's Unlimited card for £15 / month - at £8 a ticket they only need to go twice to make it worth it!

In comparison, Odeon's Première Club requires you to spend £80 just to a get a single 2D ticket free... and you have to pay for the card to start with!
You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back
  • I didn't pay for my Odeon card & I got 1000 points on it to start as well, I don't remember it being on offer when I got it other than double points for first month.
2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,

The Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card Website

"This is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to one FREE ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema"

Cards are valid for 12 months and a £5.50 processing fee applies. 90% of UK cinemas support the card, such as large chains like Odeon, Vue, Showcase, UCI, UGC, Cineworld as well as small independent cinemas also.

Application forms may be collected from cinemas or printed off from the website https://www.ceacard.co.uk.

There is no age restriction on the cardholder, and cards are valid for ALL screenings.

Maybe they've changed it? It definitely says here about paying:

Either way - still not a patch on the Cineworld in my opinion

You pay for the card but you get money off entry so you're saving straight away.
  • Odeon do extra points for any British film, extra for film of the month, cheaper tickets on a Tuesday & then use the points towards films (including preview films for 200 points per ticket) & food etc so think it's ok for free but I don't know if I'd pay for it. Mine is the ultimate card.

Cineworld, from what I heard, you have to set up DD to pay £15 EVERY month (minimum contract applies) regardless if you use it or not.
