Debenhams massive update 7000 items 70% off and codes

After the pantomime of the other week, where all our orders were charged and later refunded, I decided last night to give them another chance.
I ordered one thing, the Sanctuary hand stuff, and guess what? Yep, a payment reversal email today. What with that and the now almost impossibility of either getting on the site or arranging items into the best discount order... not sure I want to bother anymore. It's a shame, I used to love Debs.0 -
Our Apologies
We are currently undertaking essential maintenance and are unable to process any orders on our site at this time.
We are planning to re-open the site as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.
You can telephone our Customer Services team on 08448 008 877, or join us on Facebook or Twitter and we will let you know once the site is live again.
I have also just placed another order. This time, the 20% off code worked on one item but not on another item which was also 70% off from exactly the same range. Will be amazed if anything turns up - I can't get through to any Debenhams page at all on the 'new' website (with no 70% off filter), but everything working quite fast and smoothly on the old-style page which I seem to be getting on firefox. I feel a cancellation email coming on, so I am going to try REALLY hard not to waste another Fri evening on a Debs wild goose chase ............
Edit: Maybe Debenhams' new way of shopping is the way forward - you get the buzz of the deal without the expense of paying for it or the hassle of finding somewhere to store it. The last time they messed up I realised I didn't actually NEED any of the items I had ordered

Lol, actually i thought exactly the same thing after all my items were cancelled.
I think i got up in the "oooh that's a bargain so i am having it" moment.
I actually didn't need any of it, especially the Julian Mcdonald wine glasses and wine glass charms :rotfl:0 -
Potentially some great bargains so thanks OP, but I'm finished with Debenhams and their 'interesting' approach to selling. The excitement of the gamble over whether I'll ever receive anything I try to buy has worn off.
;)
Really hope some of you actually receive something though - cracking bargains if they arrive!0 -
Offer of the day website is great, I'm slowly going through things from low to high0

website is down for "essential maintenance":mad:0

Yes, maybe you are right - I'm really not that bothered now whether my order turns up or not. It's not like I only bought based on price, rather than need... Perhaps the excitement is in wondering whether or not the order will be cancelled, espcially when you have to wait all weekend to find out....I keep saying I won't online shop anymore because of all these problems and here I am getting sucked in again :rotfl:
it's all very well if you are ordering non essentials but if people are ordering more important stuff and relying on what they have been told by companies on their websites then it's a really poor show.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Website down? Hope to see it up0
