Bt Infinity woes

My dad placed an order for BT infinity in December and were told that it would be available on the 24th of December. since then the date has been pushed back 4 times ( 9/1, 15/1, 29/1) and we are now being told the 19th of February. i understand dates are approximate but 4 times is ridiculous.
we know it is available in our area as a neighbour already has it and has done for a while now so I cannot understand how they can say it is not available.
we are on 6 months free internet , but those six months are turning out to be at 1mb maximum so we feel ripped off as we are not benefiting from the speed promised.
this is not an isolated issue, and many others have complained about the same issue.
we hope to get a resolution soon as this service is unacceptable.

I recommend that you cancel and go with the package from PlusNet.
PlusNet is actually a smaller division of BT with better customer service and a cheaper deal for the same high speed broadband deal.0 -

I couldn't agree more with you.0 -
But if BT do not have Infinity at his local street cab, then Plusnet will not be able to offer FTTC either-it's the same BT service. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Correct, although OP states FTTC is available in the area.
Even so, all FTTC in the UK is Openreach-supplied, and Plusnet make use of the same engineers for installation, so the same problems are likely. That said, PN's £20/month unlimited with the first three months at £5 is unbeatable!Sorry, but the customer is not always right. Often, you're very very wrong.0 -
maybe im a chicken but we were offered it, and after telling them I would get back to them, I checked out the reviews on the internet. Now I definatley DON'T want it. !0
