Claiming costs after a court case

Then you are guilty and not entitled to anything.0

The only way you would have been entitled to anything is if you pleaded not guilty and were found not guilty by the court.
For whatever technical reason you pleaded guilty. As I understand it that immediately removes the possibility of being awarded costs regardless of the special considerations.
If you are saying that it was somebody else's fault that you had no insurance then you MIGHT have a civil claim against them.0 -
I haven't "decided in advance". I'm asking for genuine legal knowledge, not people's personal opinions on the matter.
found guilty and expecting compensation????
like other people have said you are in the wrong place, here we are just a bunch of opinionated individuals, with different levels of knowledge going from 'my guess is as good as yours' to 'I'm a qualified to give legal advice because my cousin who lives in Australia is married to a lawyer'.

Defendants can file for expenses, but as you have to pay court costs, it would be rather stupid as you would end up paying yourself your own money.
Hence why it is never done.Be happy...;)0
