Car needed to be filled to the brim and that was £62 (ouch!). Had no choice. I hate filling it - it's not money saving at all.

I guess all you can do is try to make/save pennies on it:

 Find your cheapest local fuel here. (Link)

 Get money off petrol if you have an Amex card. (Link)

 Use the Morrison's gift card workaround to get money off fuel. (Link)

 Get Tesco Clubcard Points on Fuel. 1 point for every £2 spent at Tesco Petrol stations. A £62 spend would earn you 31 points. As 1 point is worth 1p you'd get 31p of clubcard vouchers.

 Get Nectar Points on Fuel. 1 point for every £1 spent at BP Petrol stations. A £62 spend would earn you you 62 points. As 1 point is worth 0.5p you'd get 31p of Nectar spends.

CC, as far as I understand it, under 25s can now receive WTC, but you need to be over 30hrs a week. (Like I say that's just my understanding - I'll come to test that after my offered employment eventually starts... we're "only" a month past the original start date...)

ETA - nope, apparently not then... I'll have to shove that one in the Mr's face later as he was adamant under 25s could claim.
    On the up :D

Under 25s can claim, but they need to have children and/or a disability to be eligible.

    Hi Julie67 :hello:
VampiricAddiction I've joined freepostcode lottery too! Great idea!

So today has been fairly busy. Again I'll be home alone for most of the evening thanks to OH smashing some more overtime.

    - Checked online banking.
    - Found £5 :T so my budget for the week is now £55 and to celebrate I spent £1.40 on a bacon roll for breakfast with friends at work. I shouldn't have, but every Friday I am the only one who doesn't join them for breakfast so today I decided to join in. Plus, I did 5NSDs this week so I earnt it...didn't I?! :o

    - Lunch and dinner from stores.

    - Freebie cookie from a lady at work who bought 3 but could only eat 2...delicious!

    - Tried to chase stone company re: delivery charge but no answer, will try again Monday (noted in diary ready).

    - Printed off OH's coach ticket at work.

    - Checked freepostcodelottery.com

    - Organised to get my hair cut tomorrow, it's my friend's salon and as she is without car I am taking her to work and getting my hair done in return.

    - Shopping list and to do list for tomorrow all written to keep me on track and in budget!!

Have a lovely Friday evening all... :)

  • Good morning all,

I am up very early today considering its the start of my three weekend night shifts but I have been going to bed very early lately.

Had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast

    Today I need to/will

Ring washing machine repair man ( lodger broke it again) done coming monday afternoon £45 flat fee plus parts

Chiro appointment - down to two a week instead of three now
    Coffee with friend at home
Friend is coming to lift old freezer into my car so I can take it to the tip done
    Sort out recycling done
Bake chocolate brownies and banana and sultana cake for night shift done and shortbread
Check banking still waiting for delayed CSA money three weeks behind now done no CSA money yet
Drop DD new phone off at my mums when it arrives today (christmas present which didn't turn up) done one v happy DD
Take more washing to mums and collect any she has done for me done thanks mum !
Nap this afternoon before work not done decided not to have nap as sometimes feel worse for it

Also bought new glasses on two for one at specsavers to replace broken ones and managed to negotiate discount on anti galre lenses. No council tax this month will cover that and at least now I have a spare pair if I break one. Lesson learnt !

Spent £27 on two birthday cards and a gift voucher however I had budgeted for another two presents this month and have managed to regift a bottle of champagne I won in a raffle and have never opened and a recipe book someone bought me that I have never used and am unlikely to use, still as new so wrapped up both with wrapping paper I found in the cupboard and re used some pretty gift bags saved from my daughters birthday presents. Really pleased with this. I am now consciously thinking about what I spend and ways to save

Had lunch from last nights leftovers

Portioned up some chicken and froze it so it doesnt go out of date and get thrown out.

About to hard boil some eggs as snacks for next three nights

Enjoy lift to work as I am now car sharing and am not driving this weekend so no diesel needed ! All of the above and still a ten hour shift to go !

Have a fantastic evening all and keep smiling :T

    Much love

    S x

Ziggy – random question – but would you be interested in dog walking my pooch when I’m away? If you are (we live just up the hill from you really – I had a little look ;)) PM me and we can sort out details/payment etc. It’s just that my OH can’t get home on his lunch break to walk him so it’d be great if someone could pop in even just for half hour to walk him round the block, give him a cuddle etc a couple of afternoons. [/QUOTE]

No problem at all my lovely, I work while about 2.15 so would it be ok then? When are you off?
