You can buy frozen sliced cabbage, so you should be able to freeze it.0

Probably not terribly helpful (or sensible!:o) but I'll try freezing most things once (irrespective of "official" advice) - and if I live to tell the tale...and so far I have done...then its pronounced officially "freezable" in the House of Piglet!;)
Cabbage? No idea, personally, as I have never done it. I'm sure officially there are guidelines as to "blanching" the cabbage in advance of putting it into the freezer, but I'd say give it a go, and if its OK when its defrosted, then you've learned something new...:p
If its horrible and doesn't work at all, you've lost the price of a cabbage...and still learned something new...!!:rotfl:
Piglet
P.S. Mr Piglet is a trained chef and horrified by the "advice" that I give out... Mind you, he's also horrified by my cooking abilities, but after 10 years of marriage, he's still here to tell the tale, so we won't worry too much about him...:rolleyes:0 -

In the bin...? IN THE BIN...?!?!?!?!
Blimey, PP, you are a kind and generous woman and Chief Plum is lucky to have you!!!
Leftovers...thats what all those lovely Lock'n'lock/Pyrex/Tupperware boxes are for - you simply push them into the depths of the fridge in the hope that they will re-invent themselves into something yummy and money-saving before growing mould and walking themselves to the bin...:p
Of course, this is where, in my house, life turns on me again. Unfortunately, Mr Piglet came late to the land of "Chef-dom" (10 yrs after graduating with a BSc and a PhD in fungal microbiology, to be precise...). This simply means that not only can he tell me where I am going wrong with my cooking, he can also identify all the deadly fungi growing on my over-enthusiastically kept leftovers in the fridge...!!!:rotfl:
Piglet
P.S. Glad to hear you made him eat extra before binning the rest...think of all those hairs on his chest, or lack of spots, or big strong bones, or whatever it is that eating your greens gives you, that he will get as a result!!:T0 -

i always freeze savoy cabbage as we never need to use a whole one. have never had any problems with it until recently.
the last couple of times i've taken it out of the freezer and it's turned brown in there. now this never used to happen and i haven't done anything different to it so i'm confused!0
