  • Hello everyone
Been MIA for a few days as well, went to the hospital to have my blood test done on Wednesday had to wait for 2 hours  There were only 2 phlebotomists taking blood :(
Yesterday was shopping day and I had to sort my larder out before it drove me bat s*it crazy, that took most of the afternoon, still it is done now thank goodness :D
Went to Sainsbury today to pick up a few special offers that I picked up on their website, that only Sainsbury's stock, and I can't believe how expensive they are on everything . No wonder I only go there once in a blue moon.
Bitsy (((((Huggles))))) I hope that you are in a better frame of mind later x
DH mentioned that my grey is showing more ...........Yes he is still breathing :rotfl::rotfl: He has told me to buy a colour and he will do it for me, I will get it in Wilkinson's tomorrow, I want to get some kitchen towel and look on the market anyway.
He has told me that I am not to use the big scooter or go to town on my own until they sort my sight out so he will just take me where I need to go.
Oh well DS has just been sent home from college. because nobody else turned up including the tutor because he has food poisoning.
    BFN x

    Hi everyone.

I was thinking, with all the skeletons rattling around in various closets (including mine) maybe our theme tune should be Saint-Saens "Danse Macabre".:rotfl: And yes, it does happen to be one of my favourite pieces.;):D

Need to nip to Mr Ald! This afternoon. I am doing all our main shopping there and am finding it much cheaper. Just need to nip into one of the main supermarkets for Coffee for dh as he hates their stuff. But he does drink it black so I guess he can taste it.
*Nods* Yes, he will notice the difference. I drink my coffee strong, black and unsweetened, and I'm very picky about what sort it is - I will only drink instant of any sort under duress, and then it has to be a really good one.:o
Well if he's not working then cleaning the house can be his job can't it ;) might have him running back for a job quicker if he realises he can't loaf about ;) and sorry I agree, I think he's mad for walking out of a well paid job. Given the fact that so many are being made redundant or struggling to work you'd think he would count his blessings a bit more.
Sorry that sounds like a lecture, not meant to be but it's hitting a nerve as this morning a friend is struggling financially as her Hs work has dried up. she says her useless lump of a H wouldn't take a job for less than £9 an hour......well really can beggars be choosers these days? Surely some money is better than none?!
 Makes me cross, too. Mr LW took a job doing maternity cover, that was way below his capabilities, but he took it because a) it put food on the table and b) it showed on his CV that he'd rather work doing that than not work. It was a dire place to work; morale wasn't just low, it was tunneling, there was an awful "culture" if that's the right word of backstabbing, but he did it; he then took another temporary contract because that was what was available, and now, for the last *counts on fingers* seven years, thankfully, he's been working somewhere he enjoys being, at his "proper" level. I could wish it wasn't 30 miles from home, but hey, you can't have it all.:o

Anyways.... we're having HM pizza tonight; the dough is made, and Mr LW diced some onion and grated some cheese last night and left it in bowls in the fridge, so I don't need to risk my fingers (hooray for meal-planning!!) - and being Friday, Megan gets a Jumb0ne tonight.:D Every guest is different - I get an information sheet with each one - and Megan gets a weekly treat, so that she's got something nice to have, but she won't get too fat.:o

I must take her out for a walk shortly - actually I think I'll do that now, while the sun's shining.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Hello,
    I haven't posted before.
Two woman behind me were not interested in a panatone tin of cake which one of them was given by her employer.
One was trying to get the other to take it who didn't want it.
I told them it was delicious especially with butter and that one of the doctors used to give it to our ward staff for christmas every year.
Next minute, guess what, she offered it to me!
The expiry date is April she told me, helpfully.
    Amazing!:T
I shall enjoy eating it and then store my bags of rice in that beautiful spacious tin.

    afternoon!

DS1 has been and has now gone to see DS2s new flat, he brought me some heated gloves to try - :-) I gave him a spare duvet set and a big rug(decluttering:))

Had a chat to a friend the other night - she moved away about 5 years ago and has separated from her husband. Things are very tough for her - she works full time but struggles to run a home on one wage(children grown up and live with their Dad) she didn't want to tell me really but I knew something was wrong.:( She spent 3 days living at her Dads as she had no food or money for electric or gas and he lives closer to her work so that meant no bus fares to find. She said she hated to admit to how she was having to live as she's a proud person who has always worked hard. Her Dad offered some money but she wouldn't take it. I told her to try a food bank - I'm sure that they aren't just for those on benefits. Things were made worse for her when she lost some working tax credit and her son moved out.
This has made me realise how lucky I am - food in the cupboards and a warm house. It means the world when you don't have it.

    Welcome to the newbies:)

Hi, hope I can join you - been following for ages (stalker alert!)

OH has gone away fishing until Monday and I've had this awful bug that's been going round, so making a comforting cottage pie for dinner and will have a medicating glass of wine :)

OS wise have done three loads of washing (off work) and house is looking pretty tidy for a change!
