02 Retentions help please.

I am thinking of upgrading my phone. I am currently with 02 and found a good deal on affordable mobiles, which was also on 02. I phoned retentions and was trying to work out a deal when I was cut off. I phoned back and got through to someone else who told me that they couldn't help me work out a deal as affordable mobiles were web based and there was nothing they could do. She suggested I took out the contract with affordable mobiles and they would chust change my number over for me. Does this sound OK as I didn't think I could transfer my number from on 02 account to another. Sorry for the long post.

You can't so simply, you will have to port to a payg and then port back in, seems like O2 are politely telling you that they are not going to act 'desperate' .
  • O2 will let you move your number from one contract to another, you just need to take out the new one, then call up and they'll do it for you.

O2 are quite happy to migrate your number from one contract to another; as long as you are closing the original account.
