Think you've made a massive mistake, without proper consultation. I know it's your site and I know it's probably done to attract Loquax people. But the system worked. You've p'd off more people than you've pleased.

Most emphatically agreed, particularly about the Loquax comment. Surely its no good attracting new users and not caring about your old ones that have been with you for years?

Please give us our old system back and at least run two.

Its not helping that people are putting in suggestions, but getting no feedback from anyone at MSE, leading to more people getting angry and upset.

If the main issues that people are upset about could be addressed/explained, im sure that would help.

If you run a search for anything, e.g "classic" you don't get the end dates showing in the results! If you don't include the E:xx/xx you have no idea if the comp is over or not. Thus being a massive hassle...

what will be will be, but is there anyway of making sure the end date appears when you run a search?

The main problem is the complete "banning" without consultation of the previously agreed and adhered to thread title format. The new system is brilliant and will eventually work well for end date compers but there is more than one way to comp and this is messing up thousands of users' system. Please just compromise and let us have the E: 00/00 format back to work in tandem with the new system and I think you will find that everyone will accept it.

For me the most appalling part of this change is the heavy handed censorship being used to FORCE users of the forum to use the MSE scheme, that virtually no one wants, in place of the scheme established by those who actually use the forum.

The scheme that existed was well established, well tested and has been working for years covering all the variations and possibilities that the new inflexible and simplistic MSE scheme fails to address.

If the MSE scheme was actually better there would be no need to try to force people to use it.

They never listen to members, not quite true as when one member posts a good deal Martin is quick to jump on board and annouce it on TV or send it out in the E-Mail.

I just want an explanation as to why you felt it would be best to ban people from posting in the format E: XX/XX???? I get that you want people to use the end date button thing but there's no reason that if people want to post using the E: XX/XX format that they shouldn't be allowed to do so? :mad:

Also, please read all the comments that have been made from users on the thread in the competitions forum and actually provide us with some feedback for once!

Let's take a simple, organised method that's easy to implement and understand, and replace it with a buggy, over-complicated method that nobody actually wants. That seems logical!

Fair enough introduce the new system, but WHY ban us from using the better method?

Really hope this issue is addressed, particularly with so many compers speaking out about it. Not cool MSE

I cannot see why both the old and new systems can't run in tandem?

There have never been any problems with titles beginning E: ?? so why it needed to be changed, I have no idea.

This entire forum was specifically set up to listen to and address what people wanted and needed - now Martin is no longer in control, it will end up being a commercial waste of space only interested in making money.

Thank you for making it harder for me and other people with eyesight problems to read the end dates in that horrible, tiny text posted underneath the thread title.

Even purely from an accessibility point of view, this new system is terrible and that people are banned from doing it the old way-even in conjunction with the new-is ridiculous.
