yes seems a good system (well it was before it went off again a short time ago) .............2015 wins: Nokia Lumia 735 Smartphone0

What's happened I liked that system an hour ago. I use a different comp site as I can quickly choose 'ending soon comps' but this takes too long to search. When I logged on a hour ago it was so easy?0

YES.
I loved the system. Although, being new to comping it's the only one I knew! It seems to have disappeared now though...
I found it really useful as it was a great way to enter comps on the day/day before they end. As I said, I'm just starting out comping so am trying to enter as many comps as possible before they finish! Doing the old "E: 01/02...blah blah" Google search was coming up with crazy amounts of comps often in Game Over. The on-board filtering was catching most comps for me (I found a few via the Google search which had slipped thru due to "unknown end date" but surely that would tail off after time once everyone is used to the new system?)
In conclusion: pwease bring the little blue button back!:rotfl:

I don't know if this is a step forward or back, If the date tool had been implemented correctly it would have saved a lot of effort reminding newbies to but the end date in the title!
Oh well, at least people have got nothing to moan about now0 -
I don't really care but I say give it a chance.
the main effect the whole taradiddle has had for me is to make me realise how petty, set in their ways and unwilling to even consider change a lot of compers are. Previoiusly I would have said their (our) main characteristics were sharing, fair-mindedness & willingness to give things a go. Clearly I was wrong.:(0 -
It's alright people saying things like 'give it a chance' but it wasn't working how it should, which was the whole reason people we're getting fed up with it!
One of the major problems was that it was allowing people to put an Unknown end date (whilst the normal end date format was banned so we couldn't even use the title sort on them to weed them out!) and then not showing them up anywhere (even at the end of them all) when you sorted by end date?! How was that going to help anyone when comps go missing totally with the end date sort? It's ok people saying they liked it because it was the only way they knew as they we're new to it, but what they didn't realise was that they were missing about two thirds of the competitions posted on here by using it!
I think it could have worked well, if it had been implemented properly from the start and had there not been a heavy handed approach to banning the end date in the title!
That's why people didn't like it, not because we don't like change or we're being petty, if something clearly doesn't work, we don't like it!0 -

That's why people didn't like it,
This is how I felt - and where the issue lay, The new system could have worked well along side the already E: xx/xx system, and users could have chose either.
Maybe it should have been made so you couldnt leave it unknown, instead of removing the E:?Wishing you all good luck!

Definitely a Yes. As a Loquax immigrant, I've been getting used to the new format used by MSE, and it works very well. However, Loquax was a site dedicated to making entering competitions as easy and flexible as possible, with many ways to search for competitions, by site, prize, uploaded date, end date etc. The Closing Today, Closing tomorrow and so on was invaluable to ensure (quickly) that I had entered all relevant competitions before they closed.
I enter competitions by Thread Start date and used End date to fill in anything I miss. Even if it is not perfect, it is still good. Sorting in MSE does list the comps by end date, only problem is I have to hunt to find the start page for the date I want and then pages keep changing as new competitions are added.
MSE is a forum (as Loquax now is, essentially) and functions in quite a different way and I quite appreciate that it can be difficult to change things. If the End date function could take info from the old format automatically, maybe everyone could be happy.:)0
