Tidying up some investments
I have a VIRGIN FTSE ALL-SHARE TRACKER FUND with VirginMoney in and ISA
It has about 17k in there. I believe they charge 1% a year in fees
I also have a Hargreaves Landsdown ISA Account
Is there a better (cheaper) tracker available FromHargreaves Lansdown?
Would F&C FTSE All-Share Tracker 1 Acc be the bestoption 0.30%
Would it be better to transfer into Hargreaves as CASH or asSTOCK and then sell inside Hargreaves?
Hoping someone has done something similar and can give sometips!
Thanks for any Help
GTT

HL apply a platform charge for most trackers. The cheapest is SWIP at 0.1% but that attracts the charge of £2 per month. Black Rock doesn't but costs 0.5% pa.
£17000 at 1% is £170 pa AMC
£17000 at 0.1% is £17 pa AMC plus £24 Platform charge
£17000 at 0.5% is £85 pa AMC
So with your amount the SWIP fund with platform charge works out cheapest. If you had your money split across more funds then you would be paying £24 pa per fund which would make it less worthwhile using HL.
Definitely move from Virgin though as the fund is very expensive for what is an automated process of tracking an index.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

How do you explain the Virgin ISA existing for very many years before they took on Northern Rock and it being different company?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
