Judge described them as 'A company from the dark ages'. They don't seem to have much luck when facing real Judges (Shona please note).

Their cars and vans have been seized, subject to paying off the other 3.5 grand. Presumably they have been clamped to ensure they're not spirited away in the meantime?

As you say poetic justice; chickens coming home to roost, cluck, cluck (or in another context oink, oink) :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Does this mean that UKCPS now have a black mark against their credit rating?

To be fair UKCPS are pretty on the ball and Haswell has spent a lot of time reading the MSE forums. When he received letters threatening court and debt collection he followed advice and ignored them.

But the important thing is knowing what should be ignored, adn what should not be ignored.

The staged payments made me laugh too. Maybe too many people reading this forum causing a cash flow problem?

But the other thing was what triggered it. The claimant was asked to sign a £750 excess damage liability for his vehicle. Bad drivers or angry motorists vandalising their vehicles?

Surprised they paid in £££. They probably had loads of 2nd hand and pristine vehicle clamps they could have had seized instead.

Perhaps he relied on Shona to tell him what is a valid contract?

Could you please tell us when the actual incident took place, and how long it took UKCPS to pay up all the money.
