EBay collections will not use a bailiff for such a low cost, it's not cost effective.
Yes they will as the debt collectors add their own costs on to the debt.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. We've had threads here and on the community boards where they have chased debts of under £100I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm not saying they won't chase the debt, they use I Intrum, NCO and others.
PayPal is a high volume placement debt, the collection agencies will chase all debt, but taking someone to court is not cost effective. Again someone due 1000 maybe.
I would suggest if people want a better background on eBay collections they google the consumer forums.0 -

Slighlt off topic, but no one should be scared of debt collectors. They are just full of lots of empty threats and sent letters with red wording on to scare you into paying.
Send the DCA this:
Dear Person.
Should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep call”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make such an appointment with you.
There is only an implied license under Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc.
Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives, to visit me at my property and if you attempt to send such a collector to my home, you will also be reported for harassment and I shall seek damages for a delict of trespass.
You would also be liable for conspiring in a delict of trespass by acting in defiance of my instructions and sending someone to visit me nevertheless. Should it be necessary, I will obtain an interdict from the Court to prevent you carrying out your threat.
Yours faithfully,
PRINT, DO NOT SIGN YOUR NAME.
Lastly, DCA's have no legal powers to do anything. Their letters are full of words like may, if, could, would, concider. they never actually say thet ARE coming around to collect the money or they ARE taking court action.0 -
Looks like you were contacted by a scam artist who sent a fake e-mail asking you to divert the parcel.
Did anyone ask question and ask you to e-mail them directly ? whilst the sale was active.Be happy...;)0
