I sold a PS3 on ebay, I sent it but it went to the wrong address because the buyer had an old address on his account. I managed to get in touch with the courier and have it sent to the right address and I have proof from the courier with a receipt. But before this the buyer made a dispute and won, got a refund of £130 and ebay want the money from me.
I sent them every bit of proof they asked for but they kept asking for more and handed my account over to a collections agency.
Now I have them ringing me up and emailing me saying if I don't pay them the money they'll send someone to my house to get it.
They said Ebay are out of the picture now and it's between me and the collections agency so my only choice is to pay.
But I shouldn't have to, I'm not sure what to do now.
Any advice?
Thanks

Have you contacted the buyer as they would have recieved the refund? I know its a long shot - so many dishonest people out there but I once ordered something off ebay which ddn't turn up. The seller was great and refunded me and then it turned up I can't remember how long later so I sent the payment right back to him - you just never know. Other then that I can't help, sorry but I am sure someone will be along to offer some advice soon.0

Can you just clarify, what address does the PayPal payment say to send to, and which address can you prove delivery to.

I posted it to the address I got from ebay/paypal. I've got emails from him telling me to change the address to send it to, so I did and it went there.
Not sure what you mean here.Is the claim for INR or fraudulent use of a bank card?0 -

So, to clarify -
you arranged with the courier to send it to the address on Paypal.
Buyer gets in touch; tells you that address is wrong;
You contact courier and manage to divert to the address you have been given by buyer which is not THE REGISTERED PAYPAL ADDRESS?
Buyer then claims non delivery. ie NOT delivered to Paypal address?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

You say you got the address from Ebay/Paypal - which is it? They can sometimes be different - in which case it needs to go to the paypal address.
If you sent it to an address that paypal did not tell you to - then you cannot prove you sent it and will have to pay the debt.
Even if you had sent to the Ebay address, i might have told you to refuse - as Ebay and Paypal should ensure both are the same.
But as you say you sent to neither - there is nothing they will do - as seller protection became invalid. The address you posted to in the beginning was the correct address - not the wrong one as you state. All you had to do was say it had already been posted.0 -

You need to pay unless you want bailiffs coming round.
Ebay and paypal won't be involved at all now, you need to go after the buyer through the courts.0 -
Pay up, then pursue the buyer.
I agree, a claim cannot be won in this instance by the seller as they have no proof of delivery to the address PayPal said was OK to send to. However, I would be perusing the person who lives at the address it was redirected to.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
