I need recommended posh restaurants in London please

Hi,

Me and my hubby are off to London in April for our 2nd wedding anniversary :j:D so we are going to see the Lion King in theatre but are also wanting to eat out at a very posh but not extremely expensive restaurant while we are there. My uncle recommended Jamie Olivers Barbecoa restaurant, has anyone eaten here?

Please can anybody recommend any others?

Many thanks
Vicky

toptable may be a useful place to look at, some offers are quite good
(at least were as I've not used it for a while), we even got one meal free after making a few bookings

I loved barbecoa, can't remember the cost as I didn't pay, but it was very interesting, a kind of british take on Italian cooking

Gordon Ramseys resteraunt Petrus is the one, during lunchtime they do a special menu for only £30 each , Amazing food and service ( and I'm not easily impressed) , I believe it's no1 rated resteraunt on trip advisor , book for a late lunch the take in the sights or do some shopping for a few hours, The Lion King is pretty amazing as well, have a wonderful time

Nearly 2 years already...doesn't it go quick!! Can't comment on restaurants but thoroughly recommend the Lion King. We loved the show though was slightly spoilt by a woman across the aisle from us vomiting...she just threw up into a carrier bag then settled back to watch the show...handed the bag to an usherette in the interval

It's a great place, I love it, the meat is fantastic, I would recommend their sausage platter (it's supposed to be a started but I like it as a main course). We only go there for special occasions, less than once a year, it's very expensive.

    Hi Vicky,

Jamie Oliver restaurants are good but generally very noisey and busy which is probably not what you want for an anniversary dinner. I can recommend the OXO Tower which is currently doing a deal of 3 courses for £30. The National Portrait gallery. AQUA on oxford street. Gilgamesh in Camden. The list is endless... maybe check out my blog which is in my description and we can talk properly through that x
