It would be better if they said 'accepted subject to approval' or suchlike so you don't go making plans.
Well I wouldn't be making plans (well, making is fine, but not carrying them out) until I had a physical card in my hands, but that's just me...0 -
I'd cancel the car hire now whilst it still won't cost anything.
You might then decide to try applying for a subprime credit card, which people with a poor credit file are more likely to be able to obtain. See here for suggestions - Credit Cards for Bad Credit: Poor credit guide - Money Saving Expert
Obviously you won't want to be paying interest on a card like that with a high APR, but it could solve your car hire problem if accepted.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I was accepted for a Barclay card they even sent the pin and card and then closed it. I have never had a letter - called their call centres so many times and apprently they can not issue letters. Lovely.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

But I thought they were obviously going by my account conduct, I have my regular salary etc going in DDs going out, never had charges and have some savings with them. Also, with my defaults being a few years old and satisfied, I didn't think they were having as great an affect.
Thanks for your reply, albeit I feel you're being a little condescending.I was accepted for a Barclay card they even sent the pin and card and then closed it. I have never had a letter - called their call centres so many times and apprently they can not issue letters. Lovely.
That's appalling! Did you complain?
This isn't the first "issue" I've had with Natwest, do you think it's be pointless taking my complaint further?
I'm aware I have some adverse history and dont expect to magically reveive a card, but it's the way I've been treated I don't like0 -
