???? You lost me there.....
Paying on a debit card has the same rights to get money back if the company goes bust as does using a credit card.
S75 is banded about far too much by people who have no idea how card providers work.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
How come?dalesrider wrote: »Same protection in the above case on both debit (visa) and credit cards.
S75 of CCA is statute law - chargeback procedures under Visa or Mastercard are not.0 -

Hmmmm so you are effectively saying that the only rights are via the VISA chargeback system, and that the consumer has no additional rights under Section 75 (if rights for Debit/Credit card are both equal).
How card providers work? , what you mean process anything as a VISA/Mastercard chargeback and (if that fails) only then consider a Section 75 claim (should the customer request it) - In order that their liability is minimised.0 -

No.
Where a chargeback is avaiable. It will be used 1st.
If a credit card is used, then S75 is a option should the chargeback fail.
So "liability is minimised" is very true... But remember s75 is funded by ALL card holders.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Whould you like to tell my boss :rotfl:
I missed a comma, I was referring to the previous post.
No, VISA Chargeback refers to Debit Cards
As opposed to S75 does not relate to Debit Cards only Credit Cards.0 -
Except it didn't address my question.I missed a comma, I was referring to the previous post.
dalesrider was saying there was no difference in payment method. I was suggesting there was, because a Jet2 package holiday booked directly with them would, should the OP need to take that route ultimately (if the card provider didn't refund via goodwill or chargeback), fall under section 75 legislation being as there is clearly a D-C-S relationship.
It's Ok though, because he missed the point as well.
Visa chargeback may also be used for credit cards (as dalesrider correctly points out). However, Mastercard also have a chargeback feature in their scheme. No, VISA Chargeback refers to Debit Cards0
