Jet2 credit charge

I usually book my holidays and pay the deposit with my credit card then pay the balance with my debit card. However because I've just booked for a holiday only 7 weeks in advance I had to pay the full amount. Jet2 wanted £20 credit card charge!!!!! I ended up paying with debit card as there was no charge. This is taking the mickey. Surely it doesn't cost £20 to administer a credit card transaction.

It surely could, depending on the sum involved.

2.5 % credit charge by the merchant, someone to update
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • £20 for peace of mind if the company goes bust - worth every penny IMO.

Credit card transactions normally cost the retailer 2-4% so a £1000 holiday could well cost them £20.

Yup, it's fairly standard for a CC surcharge on holidays.

Are you saying that if a credit card payment is made directly to Jet2 Holidays for a Jet2 package holiday then section 75 is not applicable?

No VISA chargeback applies to Debit Card transaction.

Big issue I have with Jet2 is their baggage policy - £36 return for 22Kg bag BUT if you have hold luggage you also need to pay £12 online check in fee which you dont need to pay if you only have hand luggage, so really baggage fee is £48.
This year at least they allow up to three cases so a group can reduce this rip off but how they get away with an optional feee when you must check in.
