I don't know where you are in Scotland, but there is a Banardos wedding shop on Dalry Rd in Edinburgh. I imagine Glasgow has one too. They take donations from fancy wedding shops, samples and previous season's stock, nothing been worn before. I'm sure that £200 would go a long way there, and all th money goes to charity which is a nice bonus. It's by appointment only, so you get the whole shop to yourself, which is another nice touch.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Hey all!
I reckon there's an opening - Weddings MSE style!!! Wouldn't it be great if everybody thought like us lot ha ha! There would be no worries then about what people thought was right or wrong...
I changed my name a few years back and had a naming ceremony and the people I wanted to be there started stipulating times that would suit them and their kids so they could make it... I'm a little strange in that I changed it for spiritual/numerological reasons and as I'm into Astrology, I'd planned the timing down to specific planetary activity (told you I was bonkers ha ha!!!)...
Initially I started making adjustments to try and get everyone else there only to find suddenly it didn't feel like my naming day at all. In the end I said, I'd really like you there - but this is *my* naming day - it's going to happen once. If you aren't able to make it when I'm having it that's too bad... It went ahead and they deliberately turned up late... but you know what - I was glad I kept it to when I wanted it. I feel the same goes for weddings... Sod what everyone else wants - make it your day... with whatever food, music, arrangements you want or don't want. You're there to celebrate each other.
I'm signing off for February... See you on the March thread tomorrow!!!

Goodbye February, just a quick update for the month. did not manage all of the challenges or count my SFDs but I ended the month with a few £s in the bank, did not go into my (albeit v small) overdraft, and reduced CC1 to NIL. Had to use CC2 for a work purchase, first use since LBM in October 12, but that will be paid off the minute the expense payment hits my account. Thanks to NSK, our wonderful leader, I am on course to be debt free by 1/1/14 which I still can't quite believe. Have bobbed along for years paying minimum payments, no defaults, no late payments, just paying ££££s in interest. Stupid. Thanks to all the challengers and supporters for unending inspiration in times of adversity, and for the laughs as well. Good luck all, see you in March.MFIT -T5 #420

Just updating how I did on Feb's challange ~ disappointingly I didn't make all my sfd's and went completely over on my 'spends' budget. Food budget is within the limit but I have lots of food in so I think I set my budget far too high? My problem is if I get vouchers with 'money off if I spend X amount' I feel I have to use them cos I'm saving money in the long run (if anyone has any advice for this please help!!). I really need to get that under control in March (Mr T have just sent me more vouchers lol!)
With all this talk on weddings......I got married nearly 17 (eeeek!) years ago. We spent around £2500 all in, and we had a buffet style reception. The biggest waste of money for me was my dress which was £450 and has sat in the loft every since. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the reception as it was fairly relaxed so I don't think you need to have the big 'sit-down' meal to have a good wedding.
Anyways that's me finished with Feb (yippee) and looking forward to starting the new challenge tomorrow.............see you on the other side!!0 -

Have just updated my signature and realised that I've gone over in some areas but come in under on others. So in my warped brain i have broken even!!
Have noticed that I've gone over by the same amount on my food budget each month. . I know some people are amazing but i cannot feed a family of four plus all toiletries etc for less than 280 a month. Maybe if i tried harder but life has been a bit mental and it takes me all my time to focus on sfd, meal planning and all my oh's appointments plus working and doing overtime too!!
So off to sort budget for March. L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -
