Afternoon all - brrrrr - at least its now sleet!
Today has been a good day - I have a bidder for £16 worth of shoes on ebay (finish on friday), its SFD number 3 and I acquired some food - a friend didnt want her "pack up" - a lunch size portion of chicken chasseur and so offerred it to me (its in the freezer now!). Another friend had a pot of green chilli paste just out of date - so its in my cupboard ready for the coconut milk etc. Why do i get such a kick out of such a simple acquisition?:j
I am also taking greta pleasure in checking the bank account and logging the spends in my spreadsheet (colouring it in green if it has gone through). According to me I could be on track to pay £250 off my overdraft this month which would be incredible but I dont really believe my own data.
Anyway I am off now to light the fire and list some more items on ebay to finish on sunday. Tea is a jacket potato and the rest of the sausage casserole from yesterday. Keep going everyone - you are all keeping me strong and focussed. Reading this thread is my new addiction. xx
oops - forgot to say - this afternoon I was offerred a black sack full of wool from a friend whose mother was a keen knitter. As a crafter this couldn't be a better way to end the day!44 day challenge

hehe on the Asda front - and yes I LOVE guessing what people are up to with the contents of their trolleys! :rotfl:
Mine in the co-op would have been a picture. 3 packets of YS mince, milk and a large stash of gingernuts.
I'm up to 3 SFDs now (excluding food) so really pleased with that. Almost a week into February already, I can't believe it.0 -
Got my second sfd today and also made £70 for an overtime shift. So feeling quite pleased with myself. Just had a too hot bath n feel like i would quite happily sleep but need to get my terrible twosome to bed first.
Gonna venture to the gym tomorrow, first time in 2 months that i have been properly able to move enough to exercise, after a horrid virus. Need to get fit cos this no smoking lark is playing havoc with my waistline!!

Hi all, checking in but feeling fed up and grumpy. My shoulder is really hurting and its going all the way down my arm into my hand. I have got extra hours at work tomorrow too. I think I need to move my desk around, I think its maybe something to do with the way I am sitting when I am on the computer.
Anyhow, spent £2.70 on milk and bread today but thats all. Sick of the cold weather too, I work from home and have a son who is at home with health problems so our electric and heating costs a fortune. I have reluctantly ordered more coal for our multi fuel stove but it probably wont come till Friday so we are relying on the expensive oil heating until then.
Just wish I could afford to leave the heating on and not worry about it.
Sorry guys, not a happy bunny tonight am I? Will hopefully return tomorrow in a better frame of mind!0 -

Huh? What does the cat do, look after the house while you are at work? Do the cleaning? How much does the cat earn. I am intrigued.
But seriously you have just made a grumpy YL smile!!!0 -
NSK - dont worry about me going cold, my heating was off cos I fell asleep before I put the heating on (my timer has broken) and when I woke up I thought I may as well go to bed:)
Well had a portion of stew for tea and froze the other three, getting into it now.Mind you my lemon pudding didnt quite turn out right, it was a bit undercooked underneath, Im still getting to grips to using the halogen for sweet things, normal meally things are OK its just puddings, cakes etc that I have problems with:(
Been snowing here this afternoon but it seems to be melting now, well at least Im on a day off tomorrow so dont have to worry about ice early in the morning, so I hope if its still about in the morning everyone gets to where you need to be safely:)
Anyway off for a lurk around the boards
Jxx
PS ninno great about the bag of wool, wish someone would that for me:)
KAT great about ebay, that hotel will soon be paid for:)£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -
Evening everyone,

Anyway have a good night.:j

Evening all!
I have had to spend today but it was on my fuel credit card (a CC I use only for fuel and pay off every month) and not part of my £200 budget BUT...a transaction still occured so by my rules, has to be counted as a spend. Did get a £3 Sainsbugs voucher though with fuel which will help out on next food shop.
I made £6 from marmalade selling, but that is going on debt rather than adding to budget, take it to the bank on Saturday. I think that seomtimes it's a bit odd just going to pay a small amount like £6 off a balance of around £2k but it's nice to see even the smallest differences - as long as the numbers come down then it's all good.
I also bought the paint for my refurbed bureau project entirely with Nectar points - need to make a start on that and hopefully sell it to help out with car insurance cost at the end of the month, may be a little while off yet though as have a busy rest of the month and away visiting Mum during half term.
Glad to see that you are more positive today PG!Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
Wow, you're all doing great. Yorkshirelass I hope you have a better day tomorrow.
Had the leftovers from Sunday for tea today.
Started my window sill garden again. Since our real "garden" is still full of chuckies, I don't think any planting will be going on there anytime soon. But I started seedlings for tomatoes, peppers, chillies, salad, dill and onions. The sage, rosemary, parsley and chives I planted in a small strip in the front garden last year seem to have survived the winter. It's not much but I enjoy it and saves a few pennies. Oh, and the strawberry plants seem to come back too, kept them in pots in the conservatory. Can't wait and DS loves them. Also planted an apple tree two years ago in the front garden (only green bit so farbut have to try and save the apples from the wasps this year.
I hope there is free listing again on ebay this weekend, is it not every two weeks or is it random?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
