Is there any way to get this box at a discount, eg. adding multi room etc?

I've tried this several times myself....apparently it is NOT available Na self install option....They have to send a engineer round.
I was looking to replace my existing box with a 2TB box...and I am willing to pay for it....however an extra 60 quid is payable for a engineer to do it
Hope you have better luck than me0 -
'engineer'
Sorry, I can't stop laughing.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Installer or fitter would be far more accurate.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. If you already have Sky plus where you want to fit the new box its a self install. Or at least it was when I installed my Terror Bite box. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

try getting SKY to let me do a self install.
wont't do it without a enginner visit which involves a 60 quid fee0 -
Have you currently got Sky Plus? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

yes i have a SKy+HD box.. Wanted the larger capacity one as wife likes to series link loads of things and i am away for a weeks holiday soon so wanted the space.
I also have a multiroom box....just the small non recordable one0 -
Don't understand it then, as the only reason I can see for the installation charge would be if they had to fit a quad LNB to your dish with extra feeds to the boxes.
The website says:-
Yes, it's quick and easy to upgrade your existing box to a Sky+HD 2TB box, and if you currently have a Sky+ box, you may not even need a visit from an engineer. The box costs from just £49 for existing Sky TV customers upgrading to the HD Pack or taking a new Sky Multiroom subscription (standard set-up costs apply. Existing Sky+ or Sky+HD customers may be able to choose self set-up for £15).
I did notice that whilst my 1Tb box contains a 1.5TB drive and I get 1 TB of personal storage the 2TB box only has a 2TB drive giving 1.5TB personal storage. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
