PPI Claiming

Looking for some advice.

I am looking over some old Credit Cards I had and one of them with Halifax has Repayment Cover on statements from 2003 until about 2008 - its all I can find.

I knew nothing about this does this class as PPI?

If so do I just complete the open account letter template along with the PPI consumer questionnaire?

Some monthly Repayment Cover charges are £40 to £50!!

    No.

What is Credit Card Repayments Cover?
Repayments cover could give you peace of mind if you cannot make your credit card repayments due to disability (accident & sickness), unemployment or hospitalisation. It could also pay off any outstanding balance in the event you become a full-time carer, if you are diagnosed with a critical illness or, in the worst case, if you die.

If you knew nothing about having it, how can you come up with a provable reason that is was miss sold. ????/
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Because I am employed in a government post which provides good sick cover and I have personal health & life insurance so I didn't need this.

I didn't know what it was until Martin Lewis was on TV talking about this PPI and it got me thinking.

For example if your circumstances during the time you were making the payments would have meant that a cliam would have been refused. In my own case I was a temp and teh repayments would only be made if I had been in permanent employment. Therefore it was being collected without any possibility that you could bnefit from it. In this case I would say that if it appeared on the statement monthly then this indicates you knew and therefore it is necessary to read throught he terms and conditions of the policy if you think that you would have not benefited ie suffering long term illness, already had a policy that covered this. As long as they cannot provide evidence that you provided incorrect information then teh case should go in your favour. Oh and also take into consideration if your circumstances changed during the lifetime of the policy.

Its a very weak reason, ie if you didnt need it for those reasons, why did you sign for it to say that you did.

If you can prove that the Terms and Conditions meant that you would not have been able to reclaim as you had other cover then it is a valid claim. It is weakened if they could prove that you were asked if this was a possibility but I think you will find that the way these policies were sold the only questions were "do you qualify" not "Is it valid"
  • Thanks for all the comments and help.

How is everyone else being successful with their claims?

If my reasons are weak how can I improve them after all this cover that I paid I did not know I what this was for, it was never explained to me by anyone in Halifax.

This is money that has new wrongly took from a lot of people and the banks know this.
