Avoid Plusnet fiber optic

I ordered fiber optic from plusnet on 10 Jan 2013 and booked a slot for bt engineer to come out today and ordered a 30m extension cable from plusnet. Router received from them and everything was going smooth. Total charge £75 for router, bt engineer, and 1 months line rentle in advance. Gave them Mac code to transfer from o2.
Today bt engineer turns up and states that he does not fit extension cable and he will not install a new master socket. The leaflet that plusnet provided clearly states a new master socket will be installed and extension cable will be fitted.
I informed the engineer and he was rude and clearly stated he does not do this, what was the :mad:f$$$$ point of him turning up i thought to my self. I informed him i will give plusnet a call whilst he was there and he said he is not willing to speak to them as they are not his boss.
He checked the line and apprently it was not active so left my house.
Spoke to plusnet and they stated that the line was active and he should have fitted a new socket and extension cable. I now will have to wait for the next slot.
I canceled the whole order and i am sticking to o2 who provide a better service.
My whole family was looking forward to fiber optic broadband and i feel plusnet have let me down , big time.

Not Plusnets fault, its BT Openreach.0

O2 will use BT Openreach as well; just pray that you don't get the same BTO "engineer"!!!0

You can blame BT Openreach for that problem....Plus.net fibre is fine...once you get it up and running. Much better than BT which has daytime restrictions on service notably the Peer-to-Peer ptotocol being restricted.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

we just got on orange fibre optic. i kept BT engineer there until it was up and running. told him it was his job to make sure it was working. he also said he had done his job when the lights were on and that was that. luckily he stayed out of the goodness of his heart and waited until i migrated to fibre optic settings.
hope you get yours sorted soon

If he really was rude, go here: http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/submitFeedback.do?contactReason=complain_rude_unsavoury_behaviour0
