Is it possible to view Sky without the Multiroom package?

Hi Guys

I've been reading the threads on here about Sky multiroom and gutted to find out that it involves more cables!!!

I have a Nikkai transmitter and receiver kit which was working ok from my digital tv to the old analogue portable. I'm now trying to get the transmitter / receiver to work from the digital tv to another digital tv. I'm sure I have the set up right but cant get it to work. Have the lovely people at Sky built in something to stop this kind of digital transmission from room to room? Or am I doing something wrong.

Is the Nikkai AV kit suitable for this type of set up (it says so on the box but who knows!)?

Is there another way to achieve this without cables and without paying sky more money!

I'm not bothered about having different channels in different rooms as there's just me, so that's not a problem there for me.

Any advice out there ?

Thansk everyone!

from my digital tv to the old analogue portable.

Is the receiver not an analogue receiver therefore your tv has to be tuned to an analogue channel even although it is a digital tv?
  • Hi st999

the receiver is part of the Nikkai transmitter and receiver pack, bought as one kit /package. I'm not really sure.

But what I have tried is moving the scart socket out from behind the tv and plugged it in to the sky box. Guess what!!!!!???? IT WORKS!!!

    Happy days.

Thanks for your help and advice folks. (i knew if I asked on here I'd get the right answer!)

No surprises there. What did you expect to get out of the Scart input socket on the TV, seeing as it's an input, not an output? (You can tell that it's an input because it can be selected by the "Input select" button.)

there's no need to be rude. I'm not a techie geek that's why I asked on here.
