AlphaRooms cancellation/adjustment

Options
Hi - I recently booked a campsite via a french website, and after confirmation of the booking came through I booked a hotel room (via alpharooms.com). Subsequently, the campsite came back saying that even though the website accepted the booking, I would have to book an extra day, which I did. However, this now overlaps the hotel room booking with alpha rooms. Ideally, I want to reduce the booking by 1 day, but according to the website there is a £50 charge for this, even though the booking is in Aug, I have only paid a deposit for the hotel, and made the booking only a few days ago. Does this sound correct that they can charge £50 to adjust the booking so far in advance??? Also, to cancel outright was 20% of the cost of the booking!

I will ring them later to confirm (I am in work), but I am wondering if this sounds a bit dodgy, for example have I got any rights to cancel outright within 14 day etc?

Any thoughts appreciated!

Thanks

There is no cooling off period for hotel bookings. If the charge is detailed in their terms and conditions, you have no grounds for complaint.
