Ok, that is clearer now. Without Adobe you will not be able to open the protected files. You cannot (as far as I know) get adobe on an e-reader. The print thing doesn't work because of the DRM.

Adobe is a multinational corporation; Adobe Digital Editions is an application used to download protected ebooks and transfer them to a compatible ereader.

You can get a third party plugin for calibre that will strip the DRM off your pdf file

E Ink is measured in days if you forget to switch the wi-fi off
