It's hard to tell which of those things has already been factored in to the MSE estimate, still, cheaper is cheaper.
...
Since you are not able to switch via the CEC to Solarplicity, you need to get a quote direct from their own site ... where the quote clearly states the amount of kWh the quote is based upon
(which is 11% less than the figures you provide)0 -
I inform them of the read as of today when I've read the meter. They DON'T reissue the bill - I would love to know if anyone has had success with this. What they say is that as the billing period for the bill ends on 26/12/17, the only reads they can accept are reads for the billing period of the bill - so if I could tell them what the meter said on 26/12/17 they could reissue the bill.
They have told me I need to give them a read BEFORE my next bill is produced for the billing period up to 28/03/18.
Would love to know if anyone is successfully getting bills reissued. Do you have to lie and give a read during the billing cycle? Is this unique to monthly direct debit payers or is their billing this daft for everyone?
The Ebico system is a bit daft. I've just had a letter asking for readings, don't know why they have sent it, I enter them on a regular basis on their site, they only have to look at that. I entered them on the 2nd Jan, the letter is dated 5th Jan I received it on 12th Jan, I read the meters again and entered them. The bill will probably turn up sometimes in the next two weeks.
I did get one estimated bill, I pay quarterly by the way, which was way out, in their favour. I emailed them with readings and asked for a new and accurate bill. They sent it and I paid. I never phone them, always contact by email, even though it takes several days to get a reply.
My last bill was estimated for electricity, but accurate for gas. There wasn't a huge difference so I let it go and paid it. I don't worry about it now, as long as the estimates are not too far out, over a period of a year it will get rectified.

Thats not a surprise really. You're not even a customer and all you do is complain!
Darren
If you think that pointing out Ebico's shortcomings is a complaint then so be it. However Ebico's shortcomings are also posted by other forum members in this very thread. I do in fact have very long experience of being an Ebico customer but I ceased to be an Ebico customer when Ebico without prior notice changed its partner to RHE and also because Ebico / RHE is not doing what it says it is doing: It says it is helping the fuel poor while at the same time making energy on their Zero tariff exclusive to better off customers including a discount for those better off customers paying by Direct Debit.
Overall, Ebico transformed itself from a caring, socially responsible energy company to an energy company which is indistinguishable from other energy company. Ebico (and RHE) should do what they say they do and not use support of the fuel poor as an untrue advertising tag-line!0 -

You Sir, have hit the nail on the head :TLive long and prosper0 -
Just received an email from Ebico with a PDF letter attached (popular thing with the RHE/Bristol/Ebico platform) stating that my Ebico Zero electricity tariff is going up to 17.46p from 16.48p per kWh on the 1st March.0

At least there's no exit fees, always worth regularly checking on PCWs if there are better overall deals even ones with a SC could work out overall cheaper for you0

I've been with Ebico a year. They don't recognise my smart meter, so I have to provide meter readings, but other than that I have been happy with their service.
Received an email today saying they are raising their prices.
Am going to switch to Solarplicity because they have lower prices and still no standing charge.0 -
Umm, CEC also has a warning about Solarplicity, "Earlier this year, we received lots of reports of users experiencing problems when switching to Solarplicity. Many said switches took longer than usual to be processed and that the supplier had struggled to provide updates to those who had applied to switch."
Spoke to Ebico/RHE today, having submitted my readings. Told them that I had yet to receive an actual bill (switched in April 2017) despite submitting readings. At least today's guy was civil.
The letter requesting a read was dated 14 Jan, and arrived on the 19th. Asked the guy to check - apparently today was the last day that they would accept a read for this billing cycle. The guy is going to check whether they will use the real readings, and phone me during the week to advise.
Agreed that I would wait for this new bill before asking for repayment of their overinvoicing from Q3-Q4.
Think I'll be off to Bristol.
No news (letter) of any price increase here.0 -
I just had my price increase email a few minutes ago - Bristol resident.

"There are a number of no standing charge tariffs available from alternative suppliers."
