Water charges and council tax rebanding

in Water bills
Hi Everyone, first time poster here.
I have recently successfully appealed against my council tax banding for my house (after following instructions on this site - massive thank you) and I had read somewhere that I may be able to obtain a refund from my water supply company because of the fact that they use the rateable value in their calculations. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone on the forum tried to get a reduction in water bills after a council tax rebanding? If so, how do you go about it?
regards
Mr Skinflint

Rateable value is NOT linked to council tax
It is linked to the rates which were abolished in 1990.

Can I appeal if I think my rateable value is too high?
No. Rateable value assessments have not been made since 31 March 1990. Since that date there has been no appeal mechanism for existing rateable values.
Can I change the way my charges are calculated?
Customers can apply to have a water meter fitted and pay charges based on usage.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Welcome to the forum.
This has been covered before if you do a search and the reply above is 100% correct.
The basis for assessing a property's RV is different from that for Council Tax.0
