That too would also be an incorrect assumption.

There seems to be a few posts [STRIKE]recently[/STRIKE] for at laest the last decade by people who join MSE to slag off [fill in as applicable] by making just the one post and then never ever to be heard from again.

I corrected your post for you :D
  • Shell Energy, two stars on Trustpilot, they show one star under First Utility.

Are they really cheap? why else are people joining them?

So many bad reviews and horrors stories.

    Ah, Trustpilot....

A site that can only muster a score of 1.46 stars, despite some reviews having been written by their own employees!

    :rotfl:
  • So in reality,Shell/First Utility should score even less, due to a lot of positive reviews actually being fake.

You can put ANY energy company into Trustpilot and you`ll find crap ratings.

People who have got an axe to grind are more likely to post on Trustpilot, than people who have a good experience.

Can you trust Trustpilot`s reviews, you only have to look at this thread with the "one posters".

I am trying to switch to BULB energy, but am being stopped by Shell Energy. I was contacted by BULB to ask Shell the reason why they would not allow me to move my gas supply! (electric was okay) Shell replied they could not see any reason at all why they (Shell) had objected to the move., and they would look into it immediately. 4 days later and nothing, so here I am in limbo, Shell refuse to communicate with BULB,, so here I am what a bl***y disgrace. Has anyone any idea what I can do please?

Best bet is to start Shell Energy's complaints procedure demanding that the objection be withdrawn unless they provide you with good reason. They are required under their licence conditions to provide you with an explanation and what steps you should take for them to allow the transfer.

  • I tried to contact shell customer services last week to give them my exiting tenants meter reading and the arriving tenant’s readings (with me as landlord covering the interim amount). I couldn’t find a phone number and had to go through their ‘chat’ facility. I started at no34 in the queue! I waited over 45 minutes. When I eventually got through the conversation was painstakingly frustrating. What should have taken me 5 minutes on the phone (as it did for other suppliers) took me nearly an hour and a half. VERY inefficient and severely understaffed customer services. I wouldn’t use this supplier.

I switched to Shell about 6 months ago and ever since, was constantly hounded for Smart Meter installation.

Twice their supplier was booked to install said meters, twice they called me during the appointment window to let me know they wouldn't be arriving and to rebook.

Well, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice etc. So I complained to Shell, got a compensatory payment and have had my switching fee waived so I can go to another supplier (which I have now done).

The 3% petrol discount was nice, but the customer service is an absolute shambles. I would not recommend this supplier at all, due to their poor customer service.
