I have to also say that I am a happy customer so far. I changed from fixed direct debit to variable direct debit, no problem at all, they also answered promptly when I asked for the Warm Front payment.
My fingers are crossed that it continues!

I am a happy FU customer so far (five months). Everything has run smoothly to date, and the £12 was debited to my bill this month unasked. :j Can't ask more.

I hope you mean £12 was credited to your account. I had my £12, also told I will receive warm home discount. On a variable direct debit. All appears OK so far......

I believe it was a result of government reducing green taxes payable by the power companies.:j

I've not had a bill since July so I would'nt know if I've got my rebate.
  • Further to my first post on First Utility, I took my case to the Energy Ombudsman and won. The Ombudsman outlined a series of points that FU should have complied with. Guess what ? They haven't complied with any of the recommendations. That shows you what kind of company they are. Hope they get fined thousands. Now I know why they call themselves First Utility or FU....FU stands for F**** You !

    Should I despair?

Who is at fault, Cheap Energy Club of First Utility.

I used the CEC to switch suppliers on 18 August 2014 and to date have heard nothing. Attempts to use the CEC to find a new tariff are blocked with screen saying 'switch in progress'.

Martin Lewis, please sort this out.

Dear Oh Dear "Solent Richard" . Do not despair. There IS a Help/FAQ page you know? And it's sooooo easy to find >>> very prominent it is to the right-hand-side of the CEC webpage itself no less!

AND should you "follow-your-nose" to the end of the FAQs, you will find there an email address for your queries or concerns!!!

It aint rocket science. You have the possibility to "sort this out" yourself without getting down on bended knee demanding Martin to sort-it-out for you :T:eek::j:beer: :xmastree::santa2::xmassign:
  • Same here pDidly, that's why I'm spending time on this forum, looking for answers.

It would appear no one from MSE is monitoring otherwise there would be some feedback.

Dear Solent Richard. What gives you the impression that MSE would be monitoring this topic to provide you some feedback???

The CLUE  is in the title of the topic, isn't it???

Never had any problems with First Utilities. In fact I have recommended them to all my family members.

:T As luck would have it, most have no problems with first:utility as long as they never need to contact them.
