Is EA lying?!

Bit of an open question i know but wondering if this is an Ea tactic?
Went to view a house on sat shich is on market for 6 months but recently had a couple of grand knocked off price and new carpets etc fittedwe really liked it and called today to arrange a second viewing, when EA gave a speel about how someone had already been for a second viewing this weekend and someome else was just off the phone to make a viewing. This has got us a bit panicky now as we do really like this place and think after tomorrow we will be making an offer on wed... Just dont want someone to nab in before then!
Im pretty suspicious that their likely just doing it to make us think how popular it is? Not much of a question i know, but would appreciate your thoughts.

No one can answer. It does appear that sometimes if one person is interested others follow but EAs also lie sometimes!!!!0

They always say the same and are most likely lying.
It'll happen if you offer too. Suddenly this place that's sat on the market for 6 months will receive several offers in one day.
Don't be rushed. There are millions of houses in the country.0 -
You shouldn't be afraid that it will be sold before you get a change. Even if the EA receives an offer, they will be happy to wait for you to offer too and see if a bidding war will develop
.
If after the second viewing you still like the house, then you should just keep cool and offer what you are happy to offer (probably keeping it down a bit to give yourself some negotiation room), but don't let the EA drive up the price. As others said: lots of places for sale and other houses will be around soon.0 -
If you like the house that much why are you waiting until Wednesday? Go into the estate agents in person and ask for a viewing asap..... Time waits for no man!0

Did you see his/her lips move...?
Dont forget to copy the vendor in on your offer.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
They're lying quite laughable really it's the oldest trick in the book0

Is EA lying?!
YES, now I will go back and actually read what you have writtenSealed pot challange no: 3390 -
The only fool proof, 100% guaranteed way of knowing the EA is lying is to look closely at their top and bottom lips. If these show any sign of movement then you have your answer. They are lying.0

On the whole, yes I would say they are lying.
But, we viewed a house back in September. Been on the market since jan/feb. no offers.
Over a 2 week period, We offered, rejected; Upped offer, rejected. Said they'd meet us half way, we offered half way between that (if u know what I mean).
Then got told another offer had been made for the original half way point.
We called their bluff, said we wouldn't up offer & they should go with other buyer.
We didn't believe that after 8/9 months they had 2 offers at te same time.
Turns out they did & sold to the other people.
BUT, we found a better house a week later, bigger, better area & less money!!!
So, it all happens for a reason!

We had a similar situation with a house we were looking at.
No action in 4 months, viewed, wouldn't be rushed into making an offer, wife loved it I had big doubts.
Agent rang and asked if we were offering as they had received a mysterious offer, I declined and a sold board went up two hours later.
Unfortunately you will never know what is true and what is a lie with EAs...Sealed pot challange no: 3390
