ATM location on a bank statement - can it be wrong?

I'm trying to trace a number of historical transactions on bank statements, one in particular. My memory is that I moved a sum of money from my ISA to a current account via mobile banking, and I then withdrew that amount immediately from a cashpoint. I think I've found the transactions which add up, but there's one anomaly which is that the ATM is listed as "HALIFAX ATM NOTTS HIGH ST, NOTTINGHAM" whereas the transaction I was thinking of took place on High Road in Beeston (which is a town in the county of Nottinghamshire).
I can't find any reference to a Halifax branch/cashpoint on High Street in Nottingham and I can't find a High Street in Nottingham itself, merely other towns in the county that I haven't been to. My gut feeling is that I've got the right transaction but the ATM is incorrectly labelled, is this possible?
Everything else about the transaction adds up, it's for the right amount, going from my ISA to the right current account, and it's an unusual day (Wednesday) for me to be anywhere other than work (which isn't in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire at all).
Cheers!

This non-existent place seems to have a sandwich shop!

It does, but if you look at Google Maps then Pret-A-Manger is actually listed off High Cross Street, so I'm not sure of its accuracy.
If you search Google Maps for "High St, Nottingham" it just brings up other towns in the county (Brinsley, Stapleford, etc) all miles away from the town centre and mostly places I've never visited. Stapleford would be the only one I would conceivably have gone to.0 -
The RM Post Code finder does not recognise 'High street, Nottingham' as being a known address - not 'High street cross, Nottingahm', for that matter."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Indeed. I'm pretty satisfied that there isn't a High Street within Nottingham itself. Which brings me back to the original question, is it possible for a particular ATM to come up with an incorrect label on a bank statement? I'm tempted to go and make a test withdrawal from the ATM and see what comes up, but the transaction I was originally looking for was over a year ago so it's possible that the issue has been fixed in the meantime.0

The addresses on bank and credit card statements are nearly always abbreviated form of the full address, partly due to lack of room and, quite likely, partly due to casual data input from the client.0

On the other hand if you put House Number "2" and Post Code "NG1 2ET" into the RM postcode finder you will find
"Zara UK Ltd
2B High Street
NOTTINGHAM
NG1 2ET "
10 gives
"Pret A Manger
10 High Street
NOTTINGHAM
NG1 2ET "
2 with "NG1 2EN " gives
"Barclays Bank plc
2 High Street
NOTTINGHAM
NG1 2EN "

Hmm, fair enough. I guess it must exist then even if it doesn't seem to be visible on maps. I guess I'll go to the ATM I'm thinking of, take a tenner out, and then see what comes up on the statement. I still get the feeling that it must be using an incorrect location because it's too much of a coincidence otherwise IMO, but we'll see.0

It worked for me. There were a number of hits, six of which were for "NOTTINGHAM" itself.
Unfortunately none of them refers to a branch of Halifax!0 -

Ring your bank and ask them to give you the full location details. These can be obtained from the link network.
Should take them a few mins to pull them up. if someone is on shift that has access.
Best ask for the ATM disputes team.
Or from the Link atm locatorHalifax plc

I have been to Beeston several times; in my view it's a suburb of Nottingham. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
