Any reason to trust your guarantee than that bloke down the pub?

    What about OS independent?

When I looked at my banks website it said I had to use IE or Firefox in Windows XP or Vista or safari on a Mac OS-X.

I've so far resisted signing up until I'm sure it will work on my linux machine using either opera or firefox.

Also I understand that it impossible to unsubscribe once setup, hence my reluctance to signup until I sure or forced to.

Because I've worked in a retailer on setting it up.

We tried it on a number of browsers - including opera on linux.

    Thats good to know.

I checked my banks website again and the wording has changed from a month or so ago, from saying it required certain browsers and os to saying it was optimised for those same os and browsers.

Since you seem to have has some experience in the system, any chance you could answer my earlier question? How does this work with a second cardholder, who's card is identical in all the relevant aspects? (Specifically, the 16 digit number on the front, and the 3 digit number on the back)

I met this pop up when buying a television and PVR from Argos last month.

As this was a lot of money for me, I was suspicious and telephoned my bank to be sure. The man in Bangalore told me it was ....couldn't hear this bit.....unclear communication ....and noisy phone line.... but not to sign up and to use another card.

It looks like this was wrong advice but better safe than £900 down the tube.

    I can't answer that I'm afraid - I wasn't that close to it.

But my Egg Money card has an additional card holder and the last 3 digits on the back aren't identical to my 'master' card. So I presume that's how they identify it.

  • I've been meaning to sign up for a while and this article reminded me. but then I paused.

Can anyone offer a definition of this bit of the T&C's?

    "8. RESPONSIBILITY

You understand that you are financially responsible for all uses of NatWest Secure."

So...if the bank makes a mistake, who pays?

Good idea but I'm a bit confused.
Do I only sign up the card that I use to shop online or all my cards??
    Does it include debit cards?
Egg doesnt appear to be on the list. Does that mean I cant sign up my egg mastercard anywhere?
    ;) debt free...yippee

I signed up for this a while back with my Visa card. Earlier this week my wife went to pay her Next account using her card, she is a second card holder. My password worked fine for her so in this case it doesn't seem to matter if it is the primary or secondary card.

And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Must be coincidence - it is Egg I'm asking about and both cards are the same.

Isn't the whole point of the security questions that no-one else knows the answers? The reply I'd expect is that the 2nd card holder should be able to set up their own passwords.
