Yes, but as I said in my very first post, I am NOT getting SPAIN in the destination list for telediscount & my friend told me that she ALWAYS gets through using 08452 441 441 so I used that one.

I'll make a note to use 0844 861 78 78 but I know it's likely to change so I was trying to find one I didn't have to keep asking my friend about, seeing as I had no way of checking out on their site.

Yes, Spain IS there for me - between South Korea and Sri Lanka. How odd.

Anyway, as you were using an 0845 number, you should have been charged BT's rates - as in post #8 above.

I'd save all the hassle and rely on the MSE International Callchecker if I was you - it updates nightly (an automatic trawl of the various web sites) and, with so many people on here, any errors are quickly identified and corrected by Martin's excellent team.

I was only on for max 5 mins to check why I hadn't heard from my friend whose husband had suffered a heart attack recently & I was very concerned so it hardly mattered what it cost (well.. within reason) but I wanted to know best for future calls. Turned out they'd had friends staying & so her time was limited. (No one worries about me like I do about them.)

I have been on the telediscount website and Spain show on my PC.
If it doesn't work with them try this one http://www.discountdial.co.uk/rates.php
It's the same price as telediscount for Spain (1p/m).
If it doesn't show on your PC, this is the phone number for spain :
0844 861 30 30 for landline.
I used to use telediscount before, but at some point I had problems with it, so I have found this other one, furthermore it was even cheaper than telediscount, and still is for the country I am dialling (Belgium).
I have been using them for the last 3 years and never had any problems with them.

Why not use http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/spain to keep up to date on prices and providers.
Your see their is a supplier https://www.dialwise.co.uk that does it for half a pence a minute.
