Plusnet is a much higher rated ISP than TT. The only reason to go for TT is if it's cheaper and you're not bothered about poor CS and tech support.
The Plusnet Essentials tariff is capped at 10GB a month, not 2GB.
But I think you are confusing the monthly data limit with a speed cap-there is no speed cap on Plusnet-you'll get whatever speed your line can support-which may be only 2/3MBps.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Will they both give me the same speed? That is down to my distance from exchange correct?0

Have you done a speed test - https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/speedtest/?gclid=CM2Jt-7eirUCFQzKtAodVGIArg0

I dont have a phone line at the min. Looking to get one installed. Talktalk will do it free but plusnet want £50 to connect0

My experience of TalkTalk was terrible. They may connect you for free, but don't be surprised if it takes months then they try to say you can't cancel because you agreed to a 12 month contract (after 2.5 months of no internet and just being told that it will be 3 more before I would be connected).I dont have a phone line at the min. You couldn't pay me enough to go to TalkTalk, but that's just my experience.Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Speed is primarily down to line length, but also down to line quality. Speeds should be similar.
Signing up to Plusnet via Quidco will currrently get you £38 cashback, that'll cover most of the line provision fee.No free lunch, and no free laptop

another vote for Plusnet - they are really good with their tech support AND they don't geek you with the answer... TT will attempt to Geek you into submission.
we're a long way from our exchange and our speed test is terrible. mined ewe we are 'supposed' to be getting fibre sometime soon (I won't hold my breath)just in case you need to know:

Have been with AOL/TalkTalk for many years now. Had one or two problems at the start but haven't had to phone tech support for years. Recently moved home and everything went very smoothly. It's someone else's fault.0
