I ran it whilst the 16GB stick was in as well. This actually works because i've just done a recovery using it.

OK have you tried formatting it as FAT32 But not a quick format ?? Curiosity - are there any GOOD FREE programs like Acronis out there? Ones that aren't likely to give this issue? Just want to make a reliable image of my HDD, preferably in 1 lump & make the same stick bootable.0

How did you do that with Acronis?I did mine differently I too use acronis true image.
I just made the recovery.iso file. Then used a 3rd party program called YUMI to add it to a flash drive as a bootable iso image, i've got other recovery iso files on there, even windows 7 as a precaution.
Hirens boot cd etc. however my tib files are on a spare hdd.
When backing up a partition, i can only save it as a .tib or .zip. Not a .iso - it's not an available option.0 -

I tried using the MS "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool" to make a bootable USB with Windows 7.
I used UltraISO to make an .iso of my legit Windows 7 DVD.
When going through the process it said the .iso was not valid, so that was that idea out the window.
I'm sending the 32GB stick back. Looking at the seller (ccompany UK) on eBay - they've had negative feedback left for them regards fake USB sticks,0
