Cannot stand instant mash, it's the devils food. _pale_ Have you tried the frozen mash, real potato also comes in mash and swede, can't remember how big the bag is but we get 4 good helpings from one bag. Think its around £1.20 for 2 bags in Morrisons.

Potatoes are really cheap - can anyone really prefer the artificial alternative? I always make extra mash and vegetables and use it to bulk out a home made soup. Yummy yummy in my tummy!

I can't remember the last time i had instant mash, i can't even remember why i would ever have thought it made a decent meal.

Pure home-made mashed pots - food of the gods. And if, by any small chance, there's anything left - bubble and squeak (even just bubble on its own).

What's so difficult about accepting that people want instant and would like to know which ones are better?
