Can I change my mind regarding a sale to webuyanycar.com?

Rights that meant you could buy a car off someone, drive it away, and they ring you up a few days later and said 'we've decided to take the car back because we've changed our mind.'
Really?
Yes, it's kinda like when you buy something and then 7 days later you say you don't want it anymore and want your money back.0 -
No such rights. Sorry.0

Not a chance. Only buyers rights exist in this country. They may sell you it back but it'll be at a markup. If its something 3-4 years old they'll probably want £1000 over what they offered you.0 -
the fact is buying and selling cars is not like buying cds or kettles from a supermarket you can't take them back and get a refund just cos you change your mind just gotta put it down as a lesson learned and in future don't do big things until you're 100% sure

Webuyanycar etc are such scam artists. Last time I sold a car I checked how much they'd pay for it, purely out of interest. I actually sold the car for £1800 more than they quoted... Says it all, really![/QUOTE]
No they are not, not when you have your old car blocking your driveway and you want rid ASAP. When used properly, they are spot on. Same as anything else on this planet.0 -
I'm not entirely sure where this 'scam artist' allegation comes from to be honest.
You approach them about buying your car from you, and ultimately they offer to buy your car for a certain amount and you decide whether or not to accept the offer.
Granted the offer may be significantly less than market value, but I'm not sure where the 'scam' element enters the equation.
Check online how much you believe the car is worth, and if you're unhappy with the amount they offer you, don't sell it to them.
Surely it's that simple?

You might be in trouble here, but of course the best thing to do would be to contact them and ask.

Out of interest, did you sell the car privately, or trade it in?And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
I call them that because of the way they prey on peoples fears and insecurities. Have you ever heard some of their more verbose adverts?Out of interest, did you sell the car privately, or trade it in?
Privately, but I did also enquire at a garage, who offered £500 less than I got in the end. When you're selling a car for less than three grand to start with, £1800 is a huge amount of money.0
