Scottish Power overcharged me £1300 and are evading making a refund

I didn't bother with reading Littletommytucker's whole post, but can understand the intention of it.
However, I came here today to report a new and irritating discovery.
Whilst disconnecting the mains from the distribution board I noticed that those two hoodlum types had pinched two of the circuit breakers!
I don't need them, but pilfering is not something I approve of.0 -
A friend of mine tells me his girlfriend is on a key-meter.
Recently SP sent her a bill for £80 and are being very aggressive about trying to get her to pay it!0 -
You forgot to take your medication again SP !0

They aren't really worth responding to.
Now for an update:
I left this matter alone during the last year or so because it was getting boring and I thought something honest might happen, but a fat lot of chance there was of that.
I have put no money in the meter ever since it was installed, and so have no mains electricity.
On the 3rd. November SP wrote to tell me that during the previous 12 months (I presume they mean November 2012 to November 2013) I had used 884.64 kWh for which the total cost was £110.52. As I had during that same period paid them just over £500 there was a surplus in my favour (I wonder how much they overcharged in previous years)
So at an undiscloed date in October they sent me a credit for £12 which I cannot spend!
That leaves me a further £380 overcharged in addition to the many previous years during which my consumption had been approximately the same and my payments steady at £500 a year.
In addition to this they tell me that they predict that during the next 12 months I will pay them £234.62!
But that's not the end of it. I asked them to cut the power off and remove all their stuff in October 2013 and they still have not done so.
In October they wrote to tell me they were changing their terms of service! As far I know they cannot do that without their customers agreeing to a change in the terms to which they signed up.
So in fact I do not intend giving them a penny and am wondering how to sue them for:
Damages
Overcharges
Trespass
Extortion.
False accounting
Fraud.
I think that's all, but there may be something else.
The trouble is that they know that my roofs alone using solar panels could produce enough electricity for several houses. If only they could behave like ordinary honest folk I would try to make a deal with them.0 -
Does anybody know which part of British law allows Scottish Power to continue to keep their stuff on my property when I have asked them to remove it, and at the same time try to extort money from me?
Today they sent a 'reminder' asking for about £1600!
As far as I can work out (in rough figures) they only owe me about £20,000 - although I would have to check various accounts (including theirs, which they have never produced) before I can be certain.
You'd think it would be better to offer to pay it off.0 -
Far too early for a tortoise to be waking out of hibernation . Pull your neck back in and go back to sleep until at least May !0

Just sat down and read the entire thread. What a saga. After 2 years and 168 posts, I can honestly say I have no idea how the debt was accured or if it was legitimate or not.
Honestly, I would love the opportunity to sit down with the figures to see if they were justified or not, but going by the endless posts requesting some figures, sadly that is just not going to happen.
Anyway, would love to see how this concludes.0 -
But it is a bit tedious having to come back and read all this stuff. A great amount of it is just twaddle designed to obscure reality.0

The only way you will get this resolved is to take them to court.
It's not particularly difficult - you certainly don't need to pay a lawyer, and if all you say is true you'll win.
You freely admit this has been going on for about a decade - I don't see SP changing their stance any time soon.
As you say, it really is tedious coming back and reading your drivel every few months.0
