Thankfully no. Checking online those tyres are actually £132 each so would cost me an additional £90.

Cars benefit from extra oil changes. Difference between some getting to 120k and are worn out and ones that hit 300k and still going strong.

Really they don't any more. They might have done but oils have improved massively and engine tolerances tightened.

firstly apologies for hijacking this thread, but i thought rather than starting a new thread it is easier to do this as its a quick question.

Does the speed ratings on tyres really matter on performance when buying tyres as it seems to matter on price. just a quick gander on websites and it seems

Speed Ratings for a 195/60/R15 tyres with H as speed rating is £70 each (this is for a Goodyear efficient grip Tyre)

and a speed Rating of the letter V is priced at £76 each for the same spec and brand tyre.

do these letters really matter that much? would love to hear thoughts and opinions

Only if the tyre broke up and caused an accident. The investigators would see the tyres were not upto the cars limit and possibly use than as an excuse.

So what is the cars top speed?

In normal use no. Pretty much all ratings on UK tyres are sufficient enough to see you with an automatic ban if you exceeded them so from a safety point of view you're good to go unless you do track days ;)

HOWEVER some insurance companies are very fussy and would use an insufficiently rated tyre as an excuse to get out of paying out in the event of a claim.

Just the answer i was looking for :T

i looking at the rating and my top speed i think i can go for the H type tyres without insurance giving me issues

the only track day i do is watching them :D

H rating would be enough at 130mph.

I can find W rated tyres for less than my usual V rated ones sometimes.
