Which PAYG SIM only is best for me?

Hi folks

A penny for your thoughts, i'm an English ex-pat who now lives in Australia, I'm coming to back to the UK for a month and I'd like to get a PAYG SIM card to use in my i-phone.

I expect i'll be using a lot of data using google maps and other apps to navigate around when i'm in Edinburgh, the Midlands, and London. I'll probably be making a few phone UK calls and texts to friends when i'm back too.

Can anyone recommend a cheap SIM i can get that has reasonable rates of data charges and has a good 3G mobile reception in the above places?

Also, when buying a SIM card in the UK, do you need to provide a UK address or any documentation to get one?

Cheers

You don't need any documentation, but it has to be ordered to a UK address as very few shops sell them. Try ebay if you want it sent abroad. Use online coverage checkers for O2 network.

Again, I don't know if you can buy it in a shop and whether they do mini/micro sims. For the coverage check [STRIKE]Vodafone [/STRIKE]Orange+Tmobile.

Orange's "dolphin" payg sim is pretty good. I got mine at my local EE store and asked them to put £15 credit on it in the store as this gives me a complimentary 500mb data & 600 texts for a month. If you want a nano sim you have to put at least £10 credit on it at the store, but £15 is better as it gives you the extra data/texts. If you run out of data you can top up your data at any time for £3/100MB or £7.50/500mb or £12/GB. Calls are 25p per minute.

Just pick up a 3UK sim on arrival. Put a £15 top up on and get unlimited data (completely unlimited, no cap), 300 minutes and 3000 texts.

Probably the best 3G service in the UK.
