I believe you might be able to - there's a 'snobby' estate locally that is totally inaccessible on street view...

It will be a private road without any public vehicular rights on it - though there may (or not) be footpath rights to walk along. So Google would be committing civil trespass by driving on it in addition probably to other offenses.
So Google rather wisely completely omit these roads. There are no images at all of any parts of the road whether that be houses or woodland.
I know, I live on one.

Government safehouse? Maybe just my cynical mind though.... ;)

No they quietly rent medium country properties: neither too isolated, nor too on the street so to speak, well fenced in etc. Only the immediate locals would know that there was something not exactly right about the comings and goings - or lack of them and the slightly strange selection/mix of people there who didn't exactly encourage casual conversation.
Contrary to expectations the locals say exactly nothing to anybody about what may be going on at said property, no one tells the press under any circumstances.

Hmm ... I wonder if my immediate neighbours think there's something not right about my family - we don't have visitors, don't mix with the locals etc ... we could be described as a strange mix of people too! :rotfl:

I could start a rumour lol.

View the map on satellite view to see what's there, and you can go around to York Rd and look over the fence.

So the owners who are secretive and concerned for their privacy are now being pointed out on a well used forum.:rotfl:
  • The mapping van went straight past our road, seems even they can't be bothered with it! It is off a road that is off a road though!

As an aside, I feature on Street View and was peeved that Google blurred my face. I e-mailed to request that it be un-blurred but their (presumably automatic) system blurred me some more. You can't win. :(

Edit: I even stopped and posed for the Google camera car.

Instead of blurring faces they should replace them with yellow smileys.:), or a random selection of these :p;):D:o:cool::eek::(

Just a little aside, for those that aren't aware, Google Street View also uses man-portable "Trekker" cameras and various places of interest are now mapped. For example:

Inside the Rainforest Biome at the Eden Project.

And here's another example (which baffles me since I can't see the Trekker's shadow!).
