Thanks for the link for the letter.
I will phone them tomorrow and see how it goes. I'm not one to let things fester.
Thanks again for the replies0 -
Why would they be vague ?
Sounds like someone with the same name and they will try to trick you.
I would do nothing until they write with some reliable information.Be happy...;)0 -

Telephoning them is NOT a good idea. Follow the advice on here and send a letter, and only communicate with them in writing. Most debt collection agencies lie, cheat and bully, and deny anything they ever said on the phone and make up things that you said.0 -

Indeed it is not !
Obviously those advising it have never dealt with a fishing debt collector.
If they think they are owed, let them make their case clearly in writing.
If they do not want to, there is a reason.
These people do try to attach debts to people with the same name.Be happy...;)0 -
I understand and appreciate what your saying, but I can not have this dark cloud looming over me for weeks or even months. I've been getting stomach cramps all day, so I don't think the stress is doing me or baby any good!0

In that case, let someone help you, if you quiver they will be straight on your back.
These people do not care one inch what position you are in, in fact it makes it easier for them .
The Friday fret all weekend letter is a well know intimidation tactic.
They will ask you "security questions" to try to lure details from you.
If they have any case at all for any money from you they would write and lay it all out on the table in plain English.
They are instead hoping you are a huge mug.
Phoning them will be your gateway to harassment.
Ignore them, let them write and PROVE you owe them money, until they do, they can not move an inch forward.
The fact they want you to call in stinks of suspicion.
As others have warned you, you NEVER call these people you write .
If you feel you do have to write only include details they have used to you already and NEVER let them get hold of a copy of your signature and date and place of birth.Be happy...;)0 -

That's not what I was talking about.
If they have your signature, it can be copied to a CCA.0
